Rapid hair flips, unexpected back bends, and synchronized isolations have scored Brittany Quidang aka Bekieu a reputation for being a dramatic, emotional, yet powerful dancer. “Paranormal dance activity” is how she describes her ability to capture rhythm and embody vibrational sound through traces of sacred geometry, ancient mandalas, and hand mudras. Her self-taught flow intricately combines the techniques of lyrical hip-hop, tribal belly dance, contemporary and interpretive dance to form a improvisational experience unlike any other. In just the past few years Bekieu has performed at many acclaimed music festivals including Symbiosis, Lightning in a Bottle, Sonic Bloom, Gem and Jam, Lucidity, Serenity, Firefly Gathering, Electric Daisy Carnival, Transcendence, Life is Beautiful, 5 Points Gathering, and more. As a body image advocate and social awareness enthusiasts her undying passion for self-acceptance, individuality, and gender empowerment is the fuel to her every movement. In every performance it is her mission to inspire and serve as a reflection for others. Through expressive routines and theatrical techniques she aims to encourage audiences to express themselves and find the wild beauty within. Bekieu’s performance abilities are more than just a dance, it is a reflective, interactive journey crafted to mesmerize viewers through movement within sound.

Joey Chang aka CelloJoe is an anomaly in the world of cellists. By combining cello with beatboxing, he has created a unique genre: Classical Hip Hop.
CelloJoe records live on stage with a loop pedal and produces intricate tapestries of harmony, melody, and rhythm. His beatboxing (vocal percussion) and funky cello grooves form a rich soundscape for intelligent lyrics and his music spreads love, joy, laughter and conscious vibrations.
By beatboxing, throatsinging, singing, plucking and bowing the cello, CelloJoe can mimic many styles of music from dubstep to folk to rock to classical to hip hop.
CelloJoe is the world’s first long distance musical bike touring cellist.
He has ridden his bike over 10,000 miles in the US, Canada, Mexico, Europe and Australia.
Green Touring: Bicycle Music Adventures Around the World
Joey Chang (CelloJoe) has traveled over 10,000 miles by bicycle with his cello and played all over the world at festivals, bars, clubs, schools, plazas, on boats and on street corners.
Mr Chang has traveled solo as well as with a group called The Pleasant Revolution in the US, Mexico, Canada, Europe, and Australia. The group transported all their gear by bicycle and public transportation. They didn’t use a support car, truck, or van. They also utilized generators on their bicycles to make electricity for a pedal powered sound system which allowed them to perform anywhere from the beach to the forest to plazas in city centers without needing to plug into the electrical grid.
Get inspired to go on a bicycle adventure and learn how you can transition into a new type of music touring that is more sustainable, builds community, and reduces our impact on the environment. Mr. Chang will show incredible pictures from all of his travels.

Shelby Bertsch is a psychophysiological researcher, she spent over six years of her career in an academic lab setting – managing an EEG/physiology lab and collating data. Though she found deep separation from the person she viewed herself as, and the research she promoted; she was motivated through a need for personal healing to better understand the mind/body connection. Through exploring the knowledge of other cultures and different perspectives towards healing she found herself in Iquitos, Peru. She used noninvasive physiological measures overtime in tandem with cognitive observation to give detailed study to changes in the body and mind through the use of plant medicine.
Discussion of Naturalistic Research on Entheogens
Research upon the healing properties of entheogens will be discussed by Shelby Bertsch – a psychophysiological researcher who has studied the affects of plant medicine on cognition and the body, in the rainforest outside of Iquitos, Peru. A description of the research will be intertwined with her personal story of healing and sight. The study’s naturalistic observation remained in ceremonial context while integrating physiological and cognitive measures to understand the process each individual underwent. The findings speak to the connection between the body and mind; improved cortisol reactivity to stress mirrored improved perception of the self and a more positive perspective. The details of the research, as well as future study and application will be discussed, and interwoven with current findings in the fields of therapy, neurological and autoimmune research – there will be space for questions.
